Thana City Golf Club presents a great opportunity to play on Thailand's only Greg Norman designed golf course which has hosted several prestigious tournaments during its heyday and has recently undergone a complete renovation. Most of the fairways at Thana City Golf Club are lined with mature trees so you'll need to avoid them if you want to play well, and several holes also border water so the course rewards tee accuracy . The greens are well protected by bunkers, many of which have very high edges, so if you land close to the front this can be very difficult.

The second of the front nine is a medium length par 4 with bunkers on both sides of the landing area and a large bunker on the front right green. The third, the first of the par 3s, is complicated by a creek sloping across the fairway and before the green. Hole 6 is another medium to long par 4 that requires a fairly large shot to drive the creek across the fairway, so it's best played with a short game, it's still just a medium iron to the green. The 7th hole is a long par 5 and the 8th is an easy par 3 but the last hole on the front nine is a potential map breaker with water all over the left and a creek running through it Fairway, approximately 100 yards from the green



Greg seems to like the island greens as the 13th, 14th and 16th are all surrounded by water which will test your nerves as you cool down and approach. The same goes for the 18th hole, where many rounds were ruined by this final hole, which required an accurate tee shot to avoid water and fairway bunkers, followed by a daunting approach to another island green.

Due to Thana City Golf Club's close proximity to central Bangkok, weekends can be crowded and your backswing may be disrupted due to the course's location under the approach path of nearby Suvarnabhumi Airport.
During the refurbishment the clubhouse has been completely modernized and is now very modern, Tanna City Golf Club is part of a larger sports complex so other facilities include a swimming pool, driving range, short game practice facilities and even a golf academy. Well stocked and reasonably priced specialty stores and excellent restaurants serving local Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine.
