Evergreen Hills Golf Club

Evergreen Hills Golf Club and Resort is located in the Kanchanaburi region of Thailand, very close to the Myanmar border. The town of Kanchanaburi is about an hour's drive away, and Hua Hin is 30 minutes away, making Evergreen Hills ideal as a day trip or a longer trip from either location. One of the many parklands in this part of Thailand, Evergreen Hills is frequented by many locals and expats but also welcomes tourists and is definitely worth a visit.

Evergreen Hills Golf Club and Resort is set in a natural and peaceful setting, perfect for those looking to play golf in a remote part of the country. The golf course backdrop allows for some superb views during your round, and the impressive jungle-covered hills are sure to grab attention.

But the golf course itself deserves attention as it is in excellent condition considering the rural setting. The Evergreen Hills Golf Course has a bushland backdrop surrounded by mature forests, and recent planting of palm trees and other native species around the fairways and greens also help to visually define each hole on the course.

Opened in 1994, Evergreen Hills was designed by At-anan Yomchinda and has hosted several professional golf championships in Thailand. The course is not particularly long but is in excellent condition, which is evident the moment you hit the first tee. The rough around the fairway is mostly short and it shouldn't be too difficult for most golfers to avoid it.

There are elevation changes around the 18 holes, but nothing dramatic, and the water plays only a minor role in the round. Holes 6, 16 and 17 are the most challenging in terms of water hazards, with the 16th having an island green. The greens themselves can have steep slopes, so attention to detail is key for approach shots. Power hitting isn't enough to do well at Evergreen Hills, accurate hitting pays off here.

The only disappointment with Evergreen Hills is the amenities. For tourists, these places are not comparable to other places, and the locals who work on the golf courses do not speak English as widely as elsewhere.

Having said that, Evergreen Hills is a well-maintained golf course that is definitely worth a visit, especially for those looking for something different.
